Scope This Law prescribes the rights and obligations of patients;medical practitioners; medical establishments; professional and technicalexpertise in healthcare; healthcare provided by application of the traditionalmedicine and the combination of the traditional medicine and the modernmedicine; humanitarian or not-for-profit healthcare; transfer of professionaland technical expertise in healthcare; application of new techniques, newmethods and clinical trials; errors related to professional and technicalexpertise; preconditions for health care operations; mobilization and dispatchof resources for use in healthcare in case of occurrence of natural disasters,catastrophes, group-A infectious diseases or state of emergency.………Please sign up or sign in to your TVPL Pro Membership to see English documents.For the purposes of this Law, the terms used hereinshall be construed as follows:1. Medical examination is a medicalpractitioner’s using professional knowledge, methods and techniques to assess apatient’s health status, risks and care needs.2. Medical treatment is a medicalpractitioner’s using professional knowledge, methods and techniques to solve ahealth condition, prevent the occurrence and progression of a disease, or meeta patient’s health care needs according to medical examination results.3. Patient is a user of medical examinationand treatment services.4. Medical practitioner is a person who hasbeen granted a license to practice medicine by a competent authority ofVietnam.5.
